Works /Scheduling/ Job Management
End-to-end works management involves many functions, including job requests; work order generation; planning and scheduling; dispatch; job closure; and record management. Many IT tools available on the market either perform particular functions within the end-to-end works management process or cater for simple business environments (organisations with very repeatable products / services and clear customer expectations). For those businesses with more complex needs, RTB Solutions can be of great assistance in achieving an end-end solution.
We are very skilled at re-engineering processes to make them more efficient and repeatable. In addition, we have strong capabilities in designing and building IT tools that automate the codified portions of any customised /unique environment, making the reliance on specialist, skilled people less of a business risk (i.e. reducing single point sensitivity).
CASE STUDY – Works/scheduling /job management
After saving Brisbane Water several million dollars by improving staff utilisation (200 staff operating from transient locations), our project was extended to manage the issue of hand -held IT devices to field staff and introduction of a central ‘control’ centre that scheduled and allocated resources.
Procurement / Logistics Management
Procurement/Logistics Management, like Asset Management, encompasses strategic, tactical and operational activities and decisions. Due to our clients’ requirements, RTB has found itself working predominately at the tactical level, involving the design of contracts and evaluation of bids/tenders/products to ensure the best value for money is achieved; or in building materials schedules (or “bills of materials”).
CASE STUDY – Procurement / logistics management
RTB worked with most of the SEQ water authorities to design and implement a standard infrastructure maintenance provision contract / program of work to improve procurement and logistics management of specialist contractors.
